Conditions were slightly better on the Hood this time. Unfortunately Tom and I got separated when I misunderstood one of his signals and went down into a hollow in the wreck. I look round and he wasn't there so I fumbled with the torch he had lent me to shine some light and perhaps catch his attention. I couldn't get the damn thing to work, so decided to rise up above the level of the deck of the wreck while I fiddled with it. I turned round and he was right there. He told me afterwards that I was the first novice he had ever lost and was about to surface when he saw my bubbles. Because of this little incident Tom got rather disorientated and we got lost. We surfaced away from the wreck and it took us a few moments to get our bearings and spot Ian's boat.
